Britain's GDP to increase 0.7 percent in Q2


(MENAFN) Britain's gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to have increased by 0.7 percent in the second quarter, up from a growth of 0.4 percent in the first quarter, Xinhua reported.

The growth pace was in line with the market expectations predicted by analysts. The second-quarter figure implies that the GDP per capita would be broadly equal to the peak registered in the first quarter of 2008.

Data showed that Britain's services industry output rose by 0.7 percent in the first quarter and production increase 1 percent, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) data showed.

The country's GDP was 2.6 percent higher in the second quarter of 2015 over the same quarter a year earlier. In the quarter, GDP was projected to have been 5.2 percent higher than the peak of Q1 2008.
