GDRFA-Dubai processed 860,734 transactions during Eid al-Fitr holidays


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) A total of 860,734 transactions have been processed by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, (GDRFA-Dubai), during the five-day, Eid al-Fitr holidays.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai attributed the achievement to the efforts and hard work of the residency staff in all sectors and also due to their commitment to providing a simplified and fast services to the public.

Maj. Gen. Al Marri said that the achievements, initiatives and quality of work by the GDFRA-Dubai cannot be done without the support, and follow-up of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, pointing out that the GDRFA-Dubai is keen to remain at the forefront of excellency in performance, achievements, and in simplifying work process for customers.

Statistics suggest that the number of residency visa issued during the five days of the Eid-holiday reached 28,403 including 9,686 new residency visa, 11,294 renewing of residency visa among others while the entry permits reached 146,782 permit including 134,387 new entry permits.

During the same period, follow up on the illegal and foreigners sector dealt with 1681 transactions including179 absconding cases, 821 leave permits, 24 forged document among others, and the number of issued and renewed Emirates e-gate cards reached 1637. A total of 1850 establishment cards were also issued during the holiday.

In addition, ship movements at the Dubai sea ports saw 356 arrivals and 372 departures.
