The Qatar Stars League season will kick off on September 11.

Lekhwiya head to Turkey to train

Current Qatar Stars League champions Lekhwiya have travelled to Turkey to begin their pre-season training camp.

The team landed in the Turkish capital of Istanbul on Saturday evening after a three hour trip from Doha.

The team is set to start double training sessions under new head coach Djamel Belmadi. Squad members in the traveling party included Youssef Msakni, Chico Flores and new signing Mohammed Muntari.

Lekhwiya will play three friendly matches during their Turkish training camp before heading to Spain on August 8. The Soldiers will play La Liga side Malaga.

Al Khor to face Al Kharaitiyat in friendly

Al Khor have announced a pre-season friendly with fellow Qatar Stars League side Al Kharaitiyat as both sides continue to prepare for the 2015/2016 season.

The match will be played on August 27 at Al Khor Stadium.

Both sides will use the tie as a warm-up game before heading out of Qatar for their respective training camps. Al Kharaitiyat are set to travel to Slovenia while Al Khor will head to the Netherlands.

The match serves as an oppurtunity for Al Khor's new coach Jean Fernandez to look at his squad ahead of their training camp. The French coach has only been in Doha for a few days and has had limited time to assess the strengths and weaknesses of his side.

Al Khor are set to travel to the Netherlands on August 1. They will play four friendly matches there, including a game against recently-promoted Qatar Stars League side Al Rayyan.
