Stray bullet hits Saudi girl in Oman man held

(MENAFN- Arab News) AL-QATIF: The Omani security forces have arrested a man who they said accidentally fired a bullet that hit a young Saudi girl in a hotel in Musandam on Saturday.
Four-year-old Zainab bint Mohammed Labad of Al-Awamiyah was playing in the hotel lobby when she was hit local media reported adding that she is being treated for eye and head injuries in a hospital.
The Saudi Embassy confirmed that the shooting was an accident and added that the girl's condition was stable.
The Omani security forces said it was an accident and that the suspect has been taken into custody and investigations were on. The bullet was fired by the suspect during a celebration near the hotel the police added.
Saudi Ambassador to Oman Eid bin Mohammed Al-Thaqafi said in a statement that Zainab received a bullet by mistake while playing in the garden of the hotel where she was staying with father.
Mohammad Al-Raja the girl's grandfather was quoted as saying that the family had gone to Oman to spend the Eid holiday. He said the Saudi Embassy was following up on the case with a representative at the hospital who has obtained the child's medical records to present them to the Foreign Ministry to move her to a hospital in Riyadh.
The family went to Qatar and the UAE before proceeding for Oman where they arrived last Friday.
