UK- Newzulu in licensing deal with second major Australian media company

Newzulu (ASX:NWZ) has made further inroads into the Australia with the signing of an agreement with a second major local media organisation that could generate further revenue.

The identity of this media company was not revealed because of disclosure provisions.

However the licensing and subscription fees for Newzulu Platform and Newzulu Live could generate revenue of between A$600000 and A$1500000 per annum that should begin within 12 weeks.

Under the Agreement the client will initially provide up to 100 of its staff reporters with the Newzulu Live Reporter Kits apps on their mobile devices with that number expanding based on success in the trial phase.

The Newzulu Platform and Newzulu Live technologies enable the television broadcaster to crowd-source photos videos and live video streams from its audience and from staff reporters.

The broadcaster is deploying a customised crowd-sourced news platform which viewers will be encouraged to engage in.

It leverages traditional media social media mobile and web technology that empowers anybody with any mobile device and a story to contribute to their leading news services across traditional broadcast and digital media platforms.

Agreement Details

Under the Agreement the client will initially provide up to 100 of its staff reporters with the Newzulu Live Reporter Kits apps on their mobile devices with that number expanding based on success in the trial phase.

These enable reporters to file live video post live video and photos direct from their Android and iOS based devices.

Using Newzulu’s Platform and Newzulu Live also allows the broadcaster’s viewers to become reporters with a direct channel to contribute live video streams photos and videos that are displayed on broadcast TV mobile and the web.

Conditions include:

- The Agreement is subject to further negotiation and agreement on specific commercial terms;
- The Agreement extends up to two (2) years subject to an initial twelve (12) week trial period;
- The Agreement includes initial licensing of Newzulu Live Reporter Kits for up to one hundred (100)
Reporters; and
- The Agreement includes initial licensing of Newzulu Live user-generated content capabilities for up to 200000 active monthly mobile installations. 


Analysis


Newzulu’s Platform and Live product suites continue to gain momentum with the signing of a licensing agreement with a second Australian media company.

This is expected to generate revenues of between A$600000 and A$1500000 per annum within 12 weeks.

In addition further Australian companies are expected to sign similar agreements with Newzulu.

Last week the company signed a partnership agreement with Russian national news agency TASS that extends the distribution of its news content in Russia and joint initiatives to both crowdsource news and content within Russia.
