(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait's Islamic exhibition in Rome marks the beginning of preparations for 2016 Kuwait's celebrations as an Islamic cultural capital, said Representative of His Highness (Kuwait's) Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al- Sabah, Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al- Sabah, on Sunday. Speaking to KUNA Sheikh Salman, also Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said the "Art in the Islamic Culture" exhibition's message is to show the arts and aesthetics of Islamic civilization.
Sheikh Salman stressed importance of the exhibition, held in Scuderia del Quirinale museum, for promoting Kuwait's reputation as a center of Arab and Islamic culture, as well as highlighting its artistic museums within the framework of enhancing cultural communication with the world. Italy's hosting of the first comprehensive exhibition of Islamic Art and the keenness of the Italian President Sergio Matarilla to open the exhibition personally reflects the special appreciation of Italy to His Highness the State of Kuwait Amir, government and people, he added.
The exhibition which contains distinctive and rare antiques was admired by senior Italian officials, said Sheikh Salman, adding "the Islamic civilization is the civilization of construction and that Islam is the religion of communication and tenderness." Sheikh Salman stressed Kuwait's keenness on supporting culture and arts, as well showing the true image of the Gulf, Arab and Islamic worlds.
He also thanked head of Al-Sabah collection of relics, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as well Director General of Kuwait's Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah (DAI) Sheikha Hessa Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, for their effort in collecting these special pieces, as well praising precious care from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al- Hamad Al-Sabah.
