Qatar- Festivities conclude at Expo Milano


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Eid al-Fitr festivities with a special focus on Qatari traditions and folklore have concluded at the Qatar pavilion of Expo Milano 2015.

Expo 2015 is the current Universal Exposition being hosted by Milan, Italy, until October 31.

The six-day festivities included the depiction of a traditional Qatari wedding, folk songs and dances, highlights of original Qatari cuisine, display of traditional handicrafts and activities specially designed for women and children.

There were also a number of presentations on projects accomplished by Qatar recently in the areas of renewable energy, recycling and environmental conservation.

Meanwhile, Al Jefeer Theatre at the Qatar pavilion has been shortlisted for the 2015 AV Awards in one of the categories. The winners will be announced in September.

Also, Sidra Restaurant at the pavilion has been selected as one of the 10 best restaurants at Expo Milano 2015.

The pavilion has managed to attract a large number of visitors from different nationalities, according to a statement.
