Aden liberation hailed
(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: People from different segments of Saudi society stood together on Friday applauding the Royal Air Force for their commendable job in reopening Aden airport.
The Saudis liberated the seaport city along with coalition forces to pave way for restoration of the legitimate government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi in Yemen.
Describing it as the 'most positive development' after the coalition forces led by the Kingdom started the massive campaign to dislodge the Houthi militias who were disturbing the peace in Yemen and threatening the Gulf region Saudis now firmly believe that the tide of the Yemen war has turned in favor of the coalition boosting the morale of the people and ending misrule by the militia.
This is a much-awaited but welcome step for the Gulf Arab states which united for the great cause on a call from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman as the whole world watched.
'We are ready to defend our own turf' said Abdullah Inayat a public relations manager who had followed developments since the launch of Kingdom-led 'Operation Decisive Storm' which aimed to restore the legitimate government in Yemen and save strife-torn Yemen from the rampaging Houthis.
'The Houthi militia is a mere puppet of Iran acting at the behest of their master to disturb peace in the region' said Zeyad Mohammad a new graduate pursuing a career in mass media in the capital.
He noted that now that the Royal Air Force has taken control of the Aden airport the tide has turned giving a decisive military momentum to coalition forces to restore legitimacy in Yemen with the return of the government in exile.
Echoing the sentiment Sarah Abdullah who works as a media coordinator said: 'The operation by coalition forces in Yemen was supported by many important world leaders for restoration of legitimacy. The international community saw it as an appropriate move to do justice for the people of Yemen by restoring the legitimate government as it was in the interest of the people of Yemen to protect their right to self-determination.'
'Now with the liberation of Aden coalition forces are marching forward with humanitarian and other strategic support to the people's resistance committees for complete control to restore the legitimate government. It is indeed a welcome gain' she added.
