In his globally acclaimed book Leadership Cake; A recipe for success in Leadership Steve takes the reader on a metaphorical journey in to leadership placing themselves as a cake.
He successfully launched his book in New York USA and has since spoken all over the world and now embarks on his latest trip to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in August 2015.
"The philosophy of Leadership Cake is very simple says Rush Leadership is just like a cake there are essential ingredients in leadership that you just can’t do without. You can add many ingredients over time according to taste but just as you need water milk flour and sugar to bake a regular cake there are essential ingredients that you also need to bake a Leadership Cake".
The essential ingredients in Leadership Cake are Communication (C) Authenticity (A) Knowledge (K) and Empathy (E) (CAKE). The lovely whipped cream filling is a metaphor for the leaders’ personal development and what makes them different to others the icing on the cake metaphorically represents the leaders’ personal brand and the after taste is the legacy leaders leave behind.
The book accompaniying training development programme and 360 assessment tool all explore if you have a spoonful too much or too few of these ingredients and helps the leader via a recipe pad construct and review their own recipe for success in leadership.
