The two officers came under fire while investigating a road accident in the Sehitlik area, said Anadolu news agency.
They were taken to Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital, where one officer was declared dead, and the other remains in critical condition.

Both incidents took place in Turkey's southeastern Sanliurfa province, near the Syrian border.
Police have rounded up three suspects in the murder of the two policemen, whose deaths have been blamed on the PKK which confessed to having killed the two policemen on the day of the incident. (end) ta.ajs
