Twelve Syrian regime soldiers killed in Aleppo


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Twelve Syrian regime soldiers were killed north of Aleppo as well as five civilians in Deraa by barrel explosives south of Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Thursday.

A SOHR statement noted that a number of shells fired by regime battalions in Al-Forqan and Al-Khaldiya areas, which are controlled by the regime, amid reports of several injuries in Al-Forqan area.

In Tala Al-Tirkas, clashes between ISIL, the regime troops and accompanying forces resulted in the killing 12 regime soldiers after clashes in Tal Al-Qaqa' in Al-Maqbla town, north of Aleppo.

Meanwhile, the international coalition raided a number of targets in Sarin town east of Aleppo, an area controlled by ISIL.

On another front, opposition forces shelled the regime and accompanying forces in Karam Al-Tarab east of Aleppo and Al-Sabie area. However, no confirmed reports on the number of casualties.

Earlier, SOHR said 22 members of ISIL were killed in Al-Haska and Al-Raqqa provinces.

SOHR said in a statement eight ISIL members were killed in clashes with regime and accompanying forces against Kurdish Popular Protection units, while the rest were killed by international coalition bombings in north of Al-Raqqa suburbs.

In Deraa, heavy clashes continued since the early hours between regime forces and Islamic opposition fighters.

Deraa has been witnessing continuous attacks and shelling in various parts
