(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) The Italian embassy in the Egyptian capital of Cairo will partially resume its services next week, two weeks after a car bomb struck its building, the embassy announced Wednesday.
The embassy said in a statement that its visa and passport sections would resume work next week.
"[This comes] despite the big difficulties facing the embassy's work team and the scarcity of available venues within the embassy compared with normal days," the statement said.
On July 11, a car bomb went off outside the embassy in central Cairo, killing one person and destroying parts of the building. Daesh-linked "Province of Sinai" group later claimed the attack.
Egypt has been dogged by turmoil since the military unseated democratically elected President Mohamed Morsi in 2013 following mass protests against his administration.
