Turkey: World continues to condemn Suruc attack


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Messages of condemnation and condolences continue to pour in following the Suruc bomb attack in southeastern Turkey that killed 32 people on Monday.

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Covic, sent a message of condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday, saying: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families, and those injured in the attack".

Sudan's Foreign Ministry also issued a statement saying the Sudanese government was against all kinds of terrorism "no matter the motive," and called on the international community to increase and join their efforts to eradicate terror.

On Tuesday, the Vice President of Iraq, Usama al-Nujayfi condemned the deadly attack, saying Turkey and Iraq shared a "common enemy," the Daesh, while Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri underlined the importance of regional cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was among those who have identified Daesh as the likely perpetrators of the deadly attack.

The Council of Europe, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, China, Spain, Canada, the UN, Britain, Germany, Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, the U.S. and Kosovo are among the other countries who offered messages of support to Turkey.

The suicide attack in Suruc, a town in Sanliurfa province close to the Syrian border, targeted activists preparing to visit Kobane, the Syrian town devastated by fighting between Daesh and Kurdish forces.
