Boko Haram attacks village of Nigerian army chief

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Suspected members of terrorist group
Boko Haram burnt down the village of Nigeria's newly appointed army
chief, killing at least two people, officials said Wednesday.

The attack is the latest in a string of Boko Haram assaults that have
caused more than 430 deaths this month alone. It comes after major
general Tukur Buratai was appointed the army chief of Africa's
largest economy on July 13.

Numerous people were wounded when gunmen attacked the village of
Buratai in north-eastern Borno State late Tuesday, local councillor
Malam Isa Buratai told dpa via telephone.

'The insurgents came in after the army chief came to inspect the
village. Many houses were set ablaze during the insurgents'
operation,' the councillor said.
