Saudi Payments Network grows 11.8%


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Saudi Payments Network (SPAN) achieved positive growth in all its operations and increased the number of public ATMs in the Kingdom by 11.8% in the last year 2014 totaling 15516 sets compared to an increase of 9.8% in 2013.

The newly report No. 51st issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency that Saudi Press Agency received a copy of it, revealed the increase of the number of ATM cards that issued by of the Saudi banking system by 15.4% to reach about 20.6 million cards compared to an increase by 8.3% in 2013.

The report emphasized the high number of operations carried out through the Saudi Payments Network in the past year by 12.4% to reach 627.3 million transactions compared to an increase by 4.7% in 2013, which would raise the value of withdrawals that have been implemented over the network by 12% to reach SR 363.7 billion, compared to an increase by 7.7% in 2013.
