OIC concludes charity campaign in Central African Republic


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The OIC has concluded its 2015 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr campaign, which it launched on 10th July 2015, to express solidarity and support to the needy and vulnerable people of the Central African Republic, CAR, particularly during the last ten days of Ramadan.

The campaign, which was being conducted for the second year, was led by the OIC Special Envoy to CAR, Minister Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, and the OIC Humanitarian Assistance Department. Gadio also met during his mission with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of CAR while in the capital Bangui.

Food and non-food items were distributed during the campaign to over 30,000 people in Bangui and its outskirts as well as in the provincial city of Yalloke. Demobilised soldiers were also extended assistance along woth people in various Bangui mosques and inmates at Ngaragba prison.
