Indian Infosys net profit up 5 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) India's software giant Infosys Technologies announced posting a 5 percent increase of its net profits in the second quarter, driven by a weak rupee and strong US demand, Gulf Times reported.

The country's No. 2 IT services exporter said Apple profits reached USD476 million, up from USD453.84 million in the same period a year ago and meeting with Bloomberg's survey.

Revenues from North America market amounted to 63.2 percent of the total in June compared with 60.8 percent last year, as Infosys benefited from a nearly 6 percent fall in the value of the rupee against the dollar.

Chief executive said in a statement that the company, based in the southern high-tech hub of Bangalore, had benefited from "large deal wins and in the growth of large clients".
