Britain's fiscal deficit down to USD14.5b in June


(MENAFN) According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), British government saw a fiscal deficit of USD14.5 billion in June of 2015, a drop of USD866.97 million, Xinhua reported.

The deficit is higher than the market estimation consensus of USD9.4 billion. British income tax receipts rose to USD12.46 billion in June, while corporation tax brought in USD1.84 billion.

British public fiscal deficit decreased by USD6.6 billion to USD27.2 billion, or 1.4 percent of GDP, in the current financial year-to-date (April 2015 to June 2015) compared to the same period in 2014.

At the end of June, Britain's public sector net debt was USD1.64 trillion, equivalent to 81.5 percent of the country's GDP. It was USD83.87 billion higher than that in a year earlier, figures showed.
