Philippines stocks higher at close of trade PSEi Composite up 1.15%


(MENAFN- FxPro) Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Property and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.15%.

The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Lt Group (PS:LTG), which rose 6.93% or 0.920 points to trade at 14.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 4.36% or 0.410 points to end at 9.900 and Alliance Globa (PS:AGI) was up 4.00% or 0.900 points to 23.400 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI), which fell 1.93% or 1.85 points to trade at 94.50 at the close. San Miguel Cor (PS:SMC) declined 0.76% or 0.450 points to end at 58.300 and Philex Mining (PS:PX) was down 0.70% or 0.040 points to 5.680.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 100 to 83 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in San Miguel Cor (PS:SMC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.76% or 0.450 to 58.300.

Gold for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1106.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.49% or 0.24 to hit $50.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.18 to trade at $56.47 a barrel.

CNY/PHP was down 0.15% to 7.2944, while USD/PHP fell 0.16% to 45.295.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 98.04.
