China's usage of FDI at USD68.41b in H1

(MENAFN) Data showed that China's usage of foreign direct investment (FDI) surged in the first six months of the year, signaling a continuous reform and opening-up efforts, Xinhua reported.

FDI usage amounted to USD68.41 billion in the January-June period, marking an increase of 8 percent from the same period a year ago, Vice Minister of Commerce (MoC) said in a statement.

The bulk of the usage went to the service industry with 63.5 percent of the total in the country going into it and marking an increase of 23.6 percent from the same period a year earlier.

"The growth rate expanded a lot from the 2.2-percent rate registered in the same period last year, thanks to the MOC's continued efforts in widening pilot reforms in Free Trade Areas (FTA)," the vice minister said.
