Qatar- 11 workers injured in Industrial Area road accident


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Eleven Asian workers were injured when two trucks collided in the Industrial Area yesterday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the injured were taken to Hamad General Hospital (HGH), Al Sharq reports.

Five were treated for minor injuries and others were admitted to HGH. The cause of the mishap and other details were not immediately available.

The injured were among 1,126 patients treated at HGH and Al Wakrah Hospital on the fourth day of Eid Al Fitr.

Most cases were treated for injuries caused by road accidents, heart problems, chest pain and stomach disorders.

A total of 589 people treated at HGH, 13 were admitted for further treatment, three are at the critical care unit and 537 received treatment at Al Wakrah Hospital.

Ambulance Service at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) responded to 460 calls, including 297 received from Doha area. Air Ambulance was deployed to deal with one incident compared to six cases on the three days of Eid.

Ambulance Service also received calls from Sealine, although no serious cases were reported.

On the first day of Eid, HMC hospitals received 1,263, including 500 children. The second day of Eid saw 1,042 cases and 1,469 on the third day.

Majority of the cases were related to heat and stomach problems.
