(MENAFN- Arab Times) Absenteeism among students and professors at Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) was high in the last 10 days of Ramadan, reports Al-Qabas daily. Faculty of Basic Education and Commercial Studies recorded the highest percentage of non-attendance, while the classrooms and offices of faculty members were near-empty; only a few students were seen in front of the offices of professors waiting for announcements regarding the postponement of some exams. Some professors announced they would be meeting students after Eid holiday, confirming their absence beforehand.

In the Faculty of Technology, some classrooms were transformed to meeting halls for professors who held discussions about the problems between the senior administration and Budgets Committee at the National Assembly relating to budget support. Sources confirmed "it is impossible to control absenteeism among professors whose actions encourage students to follow their footsteps".
