Saudi Arabia 'one of the best and safest places for investment in world'
(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia is the bedrock of economic stability in the Middle East and a major hub for foreign investment making a GDP growth rate of 3.5 percent in 2014 despite a substantial decrease in oil prices said a prominent businessman.
Mohammed Ali managing director of Jeddah National Hospital also praised the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) for its consistent efforts to woo foreign investors providing them with lots of incentives and facilities.
Mohammed Ali the first foreign investor to win a SAGIA license to open a hospital in the Kingdom has developed a business enterprise that promotes team work quality of services integrity commitment and ethical marketing.
The Jeddah-based Indian business tycoon commended the Saudi government under the wise leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for hosting more than 10 million foreign workers including 2.8 million Indians.
He thanked King Salman for introducing five-year resident (iqama) permits for expats and their families.
'All expats are happy over this royal gesture and are praying for the long-life of the king' he said while lauding the Kingdom's role in supporting thousands of poor families of expat workers in different countries.
Speaking to Arab News he praised Abdullatif Al-Othman governor of SAGIA for his endeavors to attract value-added investment to the Kingdom by holding road shows in the US Japan Russia France South Korea and other countries.
Mohammed Ali described Saudi Arabia as one of the best and safest places for investment in the world.
'There are a lot of investment opportunities in the Kingdom especially in petrochemicals oil and gas electricity desalination railways and other vital sectors' he added.
The JNH chief expressed his desire to make new investment in the Saudi health sector.
He considers investment in the health sector as a service to the public rather than a profit-making venture. 'It gives us an opportunity to provide treatment to patients at affordable rates' he said adding that it would benefit a large number of Saudis and expats.
The new hospital projects would create more job opportunities for Saudis the JNH chief said.
'I am very happy to say that we have 270 Saudi employees at our hospital on the Makrona Street. Saudi workers especially mail nurses are very good as they deal with patients kindly and sincerely' he pointed out.
Mohammed Ali also spoke about his dawa work among the hospital staff to enlighten them about the divine teachings of Islam.
'For the 9th consecutive year we have been holding Islamic lectures and iftar programs at JNH in the evening throughout Ramadan for the benefit of doctors nurses and other supportive staff' he said.
'We consider these programs as our Islamic duty as it gives us an opportunity to educate our staff members about the beauty of Islam. It's up to them to accept Islam or not. At lease it will remove their misconceptions about Islam'said Mohammed Ali who supports various charitable projects in Saudi Arabia India and other countries.
