Unprovoked Indian firing kills 4 Pakistani citizens


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least four Pakistani civilians were killed and five others wounded due to unprovoked Indian firing across Working Boundary and the Line of Control, said military on Thursday.

According to media wing of Pakistan military Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), three civilians from Malana and Slehpur villages were killed when Indian troops opened indiscriminate firing near eastern Sialkot city. Pakistan Rangers befittingly responded to the Indian fire.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old girl was killed when Indian forces opened unprovoked firing in Neza Pir sector of the Line of Control near Rawlakot city of Pakistan side of Kashmir, said ISPR. Pakistan army troops responded to Indian firing effectively, it added.

Early on Wednesday, Punjab Rangers spokesperson accused that Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel resorted to unprovoked firing and mortar shelling across the Working Boundary in Sialkot's Bajwat sector. The incident comes after an ice-breaking meeting between Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Russia that decided to arrange meetings of senior military officials to lower tensions along the LoC and Working Boundary.
