Dubai needs a culture of innovation: Shaikh Hamdan


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, said that innovation has become a work culture at institutions in Dubai and the UAE. The country is keen to provide the best conditions to encourage creators and innovators in various fields.

He was inaugurating a laboratory of innovation at Thomson Reuters, which is in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in making Dubai the most innovative city in the world.

Shaikh Hamdan said: "Dubai needs to adopt a steady and balanced pace in establishing a culture of innovation as a key driver to prosperity and progress. This can contribute and support the UAE towards becoming a global centre for innovation. This is in line with the Government's national strategy for the adoption of innovation within the institutional system and the development of national policies and specialised staff to explore new and different ways in business performance."

He added: "We are keen on partnership with leading local and international institutions in order to take advantage of the best experiences and practices in the field of innovation."

He said that the strategic partnership with Thomson Reuters will help establish a framework to generate ideas to design and implement future goals that Dubai and the UAE seek to achieve.

Shaikh Hamdan called on the private sector and international companies to be part of the UAE's pursuit towards the achievement of its strategic objectives in the field of innovation, which will reflect positively in the growth of different sectors and increase economic yield.
