Zayed Giving Initiative concludes Ramadan Humanitarian programme


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Zayed Giving Initiative's campaign, '' Volunteer in Ramadan", held under the theme " Our solidarity is our responsibility", has seen generous participation from Emirati youth.

The youths enrolled in the campaign to serve their community in various health, educational, environmental and cultural fields and to support the underprivileged, especially children, the elderly and persons with disabilities. The " Volunteer in Ramadan" initiative is part of the "One Million Volunteers" campaign.

The "One Million Volunteers" campaign was launched by the Zayed Giving Initiative under the supervision of the Emirates Volunteer Association, in cooperation with a number of government and private institutions. The campaign aims to provide voluntary and humanitarian services to poor families across the country as well as support the social solidarity concept.

Moza Al Otaiba, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that the wide participation of youths in Ramadan voluntary work was an important and encouraging factor to activate the international and humanitarian voluntary initiative to attract young people to participate in humanitarian work. She added that the Emirati youths volunteered a total of 3,000 hours during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
