(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Some 2,700 migrants have been rescued in 13 separate interventions in the central Mediterranean, the Italian coast guard said Wednesday.
It was one of the highest single-day tallies recorded by the Italian authorities in recent months, dpa reported.
Italian and German navy vessels and the private mission run by Doctors Without Borders (MSF), took part in the rescues along with the Italian coast guard.
