Kuwait- PAM Is Exerting Tremendous Efforts To Shut Down Fake Firms

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Director of Farwaniya Labor Department Yousef Arti has revealed that there are fake companies still functioning in Kuwait, affirming that Public Authority for Manpower has been exerting tremendous efforts to shut down such companies, reports Al-Qabas daily.

He indicated that as soon as the labor departments discover such companies, they refer them to the concerned authorities. Arti affirmed that new regulations will be issued and some existing ones in this regard will be amended, adding that the labor departments and the Inspection Department have been warning these companies to rectify their status by placing stickers.

He explained that Farwaniya Labor Department has been experiencing difficulties in handling the current situation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area where there are a large number of marginal workers. The unstable and insecure conditions of this area have become a "headache" for the department. Arti revealed that the department has a shortage of employees and necessary equipment, and has also been experiencing problems relating to weak electricity supply in the building.

In response to those who criticized the decision to increase the salaries of expatriates by KD 50, he explained that a firm decision in this regard has not yet been taken, as it depends on each company. Some companies are at times forced to increase the salaries of their expatriate employees in order to retain them. The decision is flexible since most companies deal with workers of different categories
