Qatar welcomes Iran nuclear deal


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar has welcomed the deal reached on Tuesday in Vienna between Iran and the P5+1 group over Tehran's nuclear programme.

In a press statement, the Foreign Ministry described the agreement as a significant step, stressing Qatar's keenness on protecting peace and stability and expressing hope that this agreement would boost them in the region.

Meanwhile, HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah and GCC foreign ministers on Tuesday received a phone call from US Secretary of State John Kerry.

They reviewed the final agreement on Iran's nuclear deal and the guarantees that it achieves.

HE Dr al-Attiyah said Qatar welcomes the agreement, stressing the importance of the deal to result in enhancing security and stability in the region and freeing it from weapons of mass destruction.
