Qatar- Zakat Fund to benefit over 2,200 families


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has allotted a sum of QR6,897,700, which is to be spent as aid money to provide the needy with their requirements during Eid al-Fitr.

Some 2,286 needy families, or 12,927 people, registered with the Fund are set to benefit from the aid. They are also getting a fixed monthly aid from the fund and the figures are expected to increase as Eid approaches.

The money is deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries and they are notified about the transfer through SMSes sent to their registered mobile numbers. Accordingly, they are spared any difficulty or embarrassment that may arise from visiting the Fund's office to receive their aid allowance.
