Qatar- Ezdan Hotels sees occupancy rates rise 10% in H1 2015

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Ezdan Hotels, a subsidiary of Ezdan Holding Group, has reported that Ezdan Hotels and Suites' occupancy rates for the first half of 2015 yielded a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.

Ezdan Holding Group deputy CEO Nasser Mohamed al-Abdulla said the increase came in conjunction with the completion of the Ezdan Hotel's first revamp phase aimed at promoting hotel services.

He added that the growth in occupancy rates was also influenced by the enormous development of the Qatari hospitality market, "which, in turn, has fuelled the hotel services in the state."

According to al-Abdulla, Ezdan Hotels has completed development operations for seven floors "to equip them with the highest-level of luxury aimed at meeting the needs of all its guests."

He also reported the full completion of the first phase of the renovation processes in Ezdan Hotels' fourth floor, which reached a total area of 11,000sq m. The venue includes a recreational area with swimming pool, and is surrounded by a 3,600sq m area allocated for multiple new services.

It also includes a snack restaurant, one swimming pool each for adults and kids, children's playground, billiards, table tennis, and basketball courts, as well as a sports tent that airs international sports games.

Al-Abdulla said construction works for the second phase is underway, including the establishment of a children's indoor play area. The second phase upgrade will also include a 4,500sq m area similar to the third phase.

Both phases, al-Abdulla explained, aim to improve fourth floor facilities such as the supermarket and health club. "The upgrades are expected to finish soon and turn the fourth floor into an oasis of relaxation and leisure attraction at Ezdan Hotels West Bay," he said.

Also, the Al Thuraya Restaurant at Ezdan Hotels West Bay has achieved a successful turnout of visitors during Ramadan thanks to its competitive special deals, including discounts on the two Ramadan main courses, Iftar, and Suhoor, in addition to all types of foods and beverages.

Ezdan Hotels general manager Hasib Kayali said the restaurant had achieved "significant success," prompting a turnout of more than 90%. He said: "This reflects the keenness of our visitors to take advantage of the hotel's fine dining services."

Kayali added: "Ezdan Hotels has recently opened Al Thuraya Restaurant within its plan to upgrade the level of hospitality services in Ezdan Hotels West Bay to a high competitive level of luxurious hospitality services, reflecting originality that characterises Ezdan Hotels and the high-scale quality of its restaurants."

The restaurant is located near the swimming pool and the children's playground on the fourth floor of Ezdan Hotels. It can accommodate up to 200 people and is characterised by a unique Middle Eastern design that blends tradition with modernity.

"The restaurant offers deluxe dining services through the finest and most delicious dishes in the Middle East, the West, and the Asian cuisine flavours to meet all tastes. Al Thuraya offers a selection of the best Eastern and Western sweets and desserts, along with appetizers at competitive prices," Kayali said.
