(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has received the Innovation Award category within the first edition of the 'Zad Zayed International Award' presented to individuals and institutions that have excelled in their services and achievements.
The award was received from Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Managing Director of Rashid Centre for Disabled on behalf of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, by Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at DEWA.
The award was presented to DEWA at the awards ceremony held at Grand Hyatt Dubai to award individuals and organisations within the 13 categories of the award. The event was attended by over 500 people representing various segments of the society.
The award aims to strengthen the values, ideology and vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan among the current and future generations. It celebrates the legacy of Sheikh Zayed and aims to urge the community to strengthen positive practices and uphold noble values.

It reflects the leadership's vision to establish the UAE as the premier centre for humanitarian work," said Al Tayer.

It also supports the Dubai Plan 2021 that envisages an inclusive and cohesive city that is tolerant and embraces common civic values, where cohesive families and communities form the bedrock of the society.
