(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed the Libyan parties' initial signature of a peace and reconciliation agreement, in a ceremony held in Morocco.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani described the deal as "an important step towards comprehensive and sustainable peace" in Libya.
He said peace in Libya was the responsibility of the Libyan people "who can now hope of a new future of prosperity and development." He called on the Libyan parties who did not sign the UN-sponsored agreement to do so as soon as possible.
