US- Wisconsin Governor announces bid for US presidency

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Republican Governor of the State of Wisconsin announced he is making a run for the White House late on Monday, in a video posted online by his campaign team.

Scott Walker, 47, said the US "needs new, fresh leadership with big, bold ideas from outside of Washington to actually get things done." He added: "In Wisconsin, we didn't nibble around the edges. We enacted big, bold reforms that took power out of the hands of the big government special interests and gave it to the hard-working taxpayers - and people's lives are better because of it." Walker is now the 15th Republican contender for the presidency. His announcement was expected, but his bid remains a long shot.

"I am running for president to fight and win for the American people," he affirmed in the video.
