Japan- Japanese Finance Minister says Greek situation uncertain

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso on Tuesday offered cautious view on the outcome of a new bailout deal between Eurozone leaders and Greece, saying the situation is unknown.

"Greece's creditors have demanded the country to put the austerity measures into law by July 15th as a condition for the fresh bailout plan. It is unclear what will happen until the Greek parliament passes the bill on the measures," Aso told a press conference.

Aso made remarks after 19 eurozone leaders reached an agreement with Greek government for a bailout program on Monday after marathon talks, which dispelled immediate fear of Greece's possible exit from the euro. "Probably, people in the eurozone also see a fifty-fifty likelihood of Greece implementing the austerity measures," Aso said.

The minister also stressed the need to keep an eye on the Japanese financial markets as the Greek situation remains uncertain.
