AIESEC Oman events stress on conservation, global citizenship


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) AIESEC Oman recently held two events at the Oman Avenues Mall to highlight global citizenship and spread awareness on environment conservation Salahuddin al Wahibi president of AIESEC Oman's organising committee said 'We arranged two new events at the Oman Avenues Mall - 'Global Village' and 'Green City'.

Through Global Village we helped people explore and know about the cultures and traditions of more than 20 countries.' The other event was Green City. Wahibi added 'The aim of this three-day event was to spread awareness regarding environment and how we can keep it clean and safe. We conducted different activities for children and adults. We are happy with the response.'

More than 120 people pledged to save the environment at the Green City event. A variety of products made from recycled items were also displayed at the event.

Speaking about the Global Village event Mishkat Chowdhury an AIESEC member said 'The event was quite a successful one. We had over 20 countries presenting their traditions culture and food under one roof.'

Meanwhile Ben Watson general manager Oman Avenues Mall said 'We are delighted to have partnered with AIESEC in its 'Global Village' and 'Green City' projects which helped offer residents of Oman valuable information on how culture of different countries come together.'
