48 Insurgents Killed in Military Operations in Afghanistan
(MENAFN- QNA) Forty eight insurgents have been -killed in newest military operations in ten provinces of Afghanistan, Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Interior states that the operations were carried out in Maidan Wardak, Paktiya, Bamyan, Takhar, Faryab, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Helmand Zabul and Oruzgan provinces, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
According to the statement, 48 rebels were killed and 66 others wounded during these operations.
Ten militants were also detained in the operations jointly conducted by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and personnel from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) – Afghanistan's intelligence agency.
The press release further states that security forces also seized a number of heavy and light weapons during these operations but it does not contain a specific number of them.
