China's foreign trade slumps in H1

(MENAFN) Data showed that in the first half china's foreign trade dropped, with exports slumped by slowing global recovery and imports plagued by weak domestic demand, Xinhua reported.

The General Administration of Customs (GAC) stated in the first six months of 2015 total foreign trade declined 6.9 percent on-year to USD1.8 trillion.

The figure marked a drop from the 6 percent recorded in the first quarter of the year and is considered a signal of oncoming downward pressure on the economy.

Exports increased 0.9 percent from a year ago to USD1.07 trillion, while imports dropped 15.5 percent to USD809.35 billion.
