Qatar- Al Khaliji supports children with cancer

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji), in co-operation with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), recently visited Hamad General Hospital (HGH) to support children suffering from cancer in their battle against the disease.

The initiative was marked by a distribution of gifts, bringing smiles to the children's faces during the holy month of Ramadan.

Abeer al-Kalla, al khaliji's head of public relations and communications, said: "We understand the impact cancer can have on a child and on family life. For this reason, we partnered with Hamad General Hospital and Qatar Cancer Society to support children and their families by bringing a smile to their faces and providing them with hope and encouragement to cope with cancer."

During the visit, al khaliji representatives met officials from HGH and families of children with cancer and discussed the kids' health progress and needs and the challenges they faced.

The team undertook a tour of the hospital to check on the children's progress and handed them parting gifts while praising the endeavours and dedication of the staff and leadership of HGH and QCS in driving their missions forward and scaling them to provide more support for children with cancer.

Mariam Hamad al-Nuaimi, general manager of QCS, emphasised the importance of such events and campaigns in helping children resist the disease and defeat it. "I thank all those who are working to support our activities in every available way and their participation in all events for cancer patients and awareness events."

HGH, QCS and the families extended their gratitude to the al khaliji team for the continued support and efforts to alleviate pain and help children in their fight against cancer.

The visit came as part of al khaliji's corporate social responsibility strategy, which focuses on supporting educational and healthcare initiatives, conserving the environment and giving back to the community, according to a statement.

This Ramadan, the bank has launched - for the third consecutive year - a charity donation campaign. For every transaction customers make through their al khaliji debit or credit card, the bank will contribute QR1 to charity.
