Over one million visit Qatar Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Over one million people have visited Qatar Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015. More than six million have registered for the event so far.

The achievement was celebrated with the one millionth visitor receiving a medal representing the pavilion, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce said in a statement.

The pavilion's theme is 'Seeding Sustainability, Innovative Solutions for Food Security' and its structure highlight Qatar's traditional symbols .

Through the most modern technologies, it offers an interactive and informative experience that is holistic and innovative in its approach and with a focus on sustainability.

To show how Qatar ensures food security, the tripartite prongs of the food security matrix developed by Food Security Project is explored, as they influence: How food gets to the table, what Qatar grows, how food is stored to prevent wastage, and how it is traded on the international market. The expo is held in Milan, Italy, every five years. Expo Milano 2015 examines human history through two aspects of food production: Traditional cultural values and the use of new technologies - both of which are interconnected.
