Philippine police kill five suspected car thieves, robbers


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Five suspected car thieves and robbers were killedSunday in a shootout with police in the Philippines, officials said according to dpa.
The suspects were riding a sports utility vehicle and a motorcyclewith no plate when they opened fire at a police checkpoint in Bulacanprovince, just north of Manila, according to Superintedent RogelioRamos, the provincial police chief.
A team of police officers had been tailing the suspects before theshootout, Ramos said.
Police recovered four pistols, a grenade and two pairs of handcuffsfrom the suspects, Ramos said
