(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) At least three security officers were injured and about 500 people, including pilgrims, were evacuated when a fire broke out at a hotel in the city of Makkah Saturday.
The rescue teams started evacuating people from the second floor of the hotel for their safety, Said Sarhan, a spokesman for civil defense in Makkah, said.
The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire by using the automatic sprinkler system, he added, noting the investigation teams are doing their best to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
