Kuwait Red Crescent holds Iftar banquet for orphans in Jordan

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) held an Iftar (breakfast) banquet for orphans and Holy Quran memorizers on Saturday, part of the society's breakfast campaign in Jordan.

KRCS distributed boxes containing food and clothes for the orphans, in Nour Al-Huda Center, for Eid Al-Fitr.

Anwar Al-Hasawi, KRCS Vice Board Chairman, said they distributed boxes for 400 orphans and memorizers of the Holy Quran as part of the society's philanthropic activities in Jordan during the Holy month of Ramadan.

This campaign, he told KUNA, was part of KRCS's social responsibility towards people in need in different countries, and to blend this segment into the society.

Al-Hasawi, who thanked the people of Kuwait for contributing to this campaign, commended the Jordanian Red Crescent's efforts to coordinate the distribution of the aid for the needy Jordanians or Syrian refugees.

The breakfast banquet was attended by Al-Hasawi, Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij, and head of the KRCS mission in Jordan Khaled Al-Zaid.
