(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti shooter Atef Al-Dosari has qualified for the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after clinching silver at the IPC Shooting World Cup in Osijek, Croatia, on Saturday.

Al-Dosari claimed silver in a competition which grouped 50 competitors from 48 nations, in an accomplishment that was hailed as "a massive triumph" for Kuwaiti Paralympic sports by Kuwait's chief delegate Naser Al-Ajmi, in a telephone call with KUNA.

Al-Ajmi said that the Kuwaiti shooter, who only started the sport under two years ago, was "a great addition to the squad." The champion will receive full backing from the Public Authority for Youth and Sports aimed at enabling him to represent Kuwait in the most able manner, Al-Ajmi added, expressing hope further Kuwaiti Paralympic athletes would follow suit.
