Saudi Envoy Says Curriculum Not Linked To Acts Of Terrorism

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Kuwait Dr Abdul Aziz Al-Fayez is of the view that linking the acts of terrorism in the region with curriculum and socialization is a sweeping statement for terrorist operations, adding all curricula around the world are subjected to review and verification, denying that curriculum can push a minority to adopt terrorist ideology, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Fayez explained the effect of extremism and pedant ideas outside the religion are behind some youths joining terrorist groups, and that Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have been targeted by suicide bombers but the rapid security intervention allayed fears of the people, especially after arrest of the suspects.

He praised the security cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait which played a major role in apprehending the suspects, and total efforts of the security bodies in Saudi for the last 20 years in thwarting many terrorist operations planned against the kingdom, stressing "it's a major achievement". As regards the decision to conduct DNA tests on citizens and expatriates in Kuwait, he said the kingdom has started implementation of the system on special cases. He stressed the system has other benefits aside from fighting terrorism.
