China's civil aviation industry logs strong growth in 2014


(MENAFN) According to the Chinese civil aviation authority, the country's civil aviation industry has achieved a steady growth last year, Xinhua reported.

The Civil Administration of China (CAAC) data showed that air travelers on domestic and international flights surged 10.7 percent on-year to hit 392 million.

The sector's operating revenues increased 8.2 percent to USD101 billion, while profits rose 14 percent to USD4.71 billion, USD571.1 million more than a year ago.

Meanwhile, there is still room for improvement in terms of punctuality rates, which logged 68.4 percent in 2014, down from 72 percent in the previous year.
