CALTEX Australia records USD251m net profit in H1

(MENAFN) CALTEX Australia registered a net profit of USD251 million in the first half of the year, marking a tremendous 45.1 percent increase motivated by sturdy refining margins at its Lytton refinery in Brisbane, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The growth was also spurred by robust premium fuel sales. Nonetheless, total sales of transport fuels witnessed a huge decrease by 7.8 billion liters from last year, which the company attributed to losing a major supply deal.

The supply and marketing business, including its service stations and wholesale transport fuels, delivered nearly double the earnings of its refining, which immensely helped in boosting the profit.
