Australia's Chevron USD54b project hampered in unloading test LNG

(MENAFN) Australian Chevron Gorgon LNG project, the most expensive globally at USD54 billion, is set up for producing its first output of LNG into an already concentrated market, Gulf Times reported.

Several Japanese clients have contended that they are probably not going to purchase the test shipments of LNG. This would mark another hit for the project which was already affected by excessive costs and global competition.

"If there's spot supply that's cheaper than Chevron's offer price, then we'll not take from Chevron," an official, who insisted to stay anonymous and with knowledge of the matter, said in a statement.
