(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) In line with the nationwide activities marking the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq, in collaboration with the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, Tamkeen, hosted an Iftar feast for 60 orphans in Al Qasba, Sharjah last Monday.
Shurooq recently launched the Orphan Eid Clothing Campaign at its four leisure destinations in Sharjah, themed "Together We Put a Smile on Their Faces". From the 1st to 18th of Ramadan, Shurooq's employees and visitors were able to take part in the campaign by buying AED200 donation coupons, the proceeds of which were allocated to the Eid Clothing campaign carried out by the Tamkeen.
Before the Iftar gathering, which was attended by officials from Shurooq and Tamkeen, Khulood Salim Al Junaibi, Head of the Events Unit at Al Qasba handed the donation vouchers with the campaign's proceeds to Nawal Yaser Al Hamedi, Managing Director of Tamkeen.
Shurooq officials also distributed gifts to participating children in the Iftar, which contained coupons for them and their families to enjoy the leisure facilities at the authority's destinations during Eid.
Head of the Events Unit at Al Qasba said, "It is very gratifying to bring joy to orphan children and put smiles on their faces during the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Through such initiatives, we follow the example of our late father and founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan".
Managing Director of Social Prosperity at the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation highly appreciated the campaign carried out by Shurooq to support the foundation's orphan children.
