Qatar- Meeting discusses ways to expand ties


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, at Al Safa Palace in Makkah yesterday evening. HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir's personal representative, attended the meeting along with members of the accompanying delegation. Also present were Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence, Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State Dr Musaad bin Mohamed al-Aiban; Minister of State and Acting Minister of Housing Isam bin Saad bin Saeed; and Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir. "The meeting reviewed the fraternal ties between the two countries and ways to develop them on all fronts," said the official Qatar News Agency.

It also discussed a set of regional and international issues of mutual interest. The Emir also attended an Iftar banquet hosted by King Salman. Yesterday evening, the Emir met Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, Mohamed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. The meeting in Jeddah reviewed co-operation between the two countries in addition to exchanging views on the most pressing issues and developments in the region. Sheikh Jassim and members of the accompanying delegation attended the meeting. Earlier yesterday, the Emir performed Umrah. Sheikh Jassim and members of the delegation accompanying the Emir also performed Umrah.
